ED 870 & CEP 807: Dr. Matthew Koehler, Aric Gaunt, Spencer Greenhalgh

CAPSTONE

This course allowed me to reflect on my goals from the past and envision my new goals for the future.  It allowed me to look back at what I have learned while I pursued my master's degree.  I learned how to put a professional website together to present information about myself and what I learned over the course of my master's program. 

EAD 882 : Dr. Patricia Marin 

Seminar Education Administration-State and Federal Policy

This course was an extra course that I decided to take out of interest.  However, I was unaware until after taking the course that it was not a K-12 content base, but a higher education focus.  I learned a lot about myself as well as the higher education policy world, it was a lot of work and possibly one of the harder of the courses I took becasuse of it being outside of my comfort and focus area. 

EAD 822: Dr. T. Venzant Chambers

Engaging Diverse Students and Families

This course allowed me to compare and analysis education within the broad and diverse contexts of schools today and in the past. Within my course work I enjoyed learning and discussing the problems, policies, and school practices that effect my students.  A large portion of the semester we also focused on school, family, and communities of all diversity relationships.

EAD 867: Dr. M. Amey

Case Studies in Educational Leadership

In this course it was strictly learning and analyze past examples of different types of leadership.  Within this course I focused on what time of leadership qualities are present or absent within the case and then analyze and form a better leadership approach to the situation.  This course is a good example of learning through past examples of the do's and don't  of leadership. 

CEP 815: Dr. A. Yadav, D. Cosby

Technology and Leadership

This course showed me how to use and integrate technology in my leadership style.  I was able to develop strategies in order to effectively create and lead project management, planning and evaluation within my school or position.  This course also focused on how to build relationship within your organization using technology.

EAD 801: Dr. William Arnold

Leadership and Organizational Development

This course allowed me learn and evaluate what good leadership is.  It also showed how good leadership and a good organization are not always the same thing.

While completing work for this course it required me start reflecting on what qualities make effective development happen within an organization. 

TE 818: Dr. M. Kean

Curriculum in its Social Context

This course provided the foundations of curriculum. During the coursework we focused on issues and practices across subjects, grades, as well as different school settings. Within the course work I was able to reflect and analyze what curriculum as well as teaching styles are effective in all different areas.

EAD 860: Dr. Steven Weiland, Graham McKeague

Concept of a Learning Society

This course allowed me to be introduced the technology age of education.  This course discusses different ways to use  technology in the process of learning.  I learned about how important it is to include the new age technology with direct instruction.

TE 825: Dr. R. Jacobsen

Diverse Learners and Leaning Subject Matter

In this course it allowed me to focus strategies of teaching within a subject matter to diverse learners. Within the coursework I looked at different articles curriculum, and teaching approaches and studied the issues and how it related to the classroom diversity.

CEP 800: D. Henriksen, D. Campbell, S. Keenan 

Psychology of Learning in School and other Settings

In this course I learned about the basic requirements of learning and learners. We discussed: What is learned, how it is taught, and what learners bring to school as well has what they bring from their settings.

ED 800: Dr. Steven Weiland

Educational Inquiry

This course addresses problems within the theory and practice of teaching and learning, administration, and leadership. In this course I learned of educational inquiry and the applications of inquiry to educational practices.
